The Mint Barrel Barn is a stunning, gambrel-style barn that was built in 1910. The barn’s earliest years are a mystery, but in later years it was used as a mint still. Huge quantities of local peppermint crops were distilled into mint oil, stored in large barrels, and sold across the nation to manufacturers of gum, mouthwash, toothpaste, and candy.
